This file contains information about using the Fixtures Generator ----------------------------------------------------------------- Installing and uninstalling. Version 2 of the Fixtures Generator has the Borland libraries compiled in, so that seperate dlls are not needed. Simply unzip the executable into a location of your choice and it is ready to run. The two text files which the program itself creates will be put in the same directory as the executable. This means that you could remove the program and its files just by deleting the directory. Running for the first time. Fixtures Generator now uses plain text files to store its data. The first time it is run, the team or competitor names should be entered. The team names are associated with numbers: these numbers are selected at random during the fixture generating process, and the associated names displayed on screen. The menu interface has been replaced by toolbar buttons in version 2. Entering team names. You should enter the names of the teams or competitors before trying to generate any fixtures. Click the Team List button - the one with faces on it. An file-not-found message will appear the first time you do this, because the team list does not yet exist. Enter the names one at a time, pressing the 'Add' button after each name, then close the list window. Generating a fixture list. Click the Generate button (the one with the spiral) to start generating a list. Enter a date by selecting from the calendar. Press 'Start' - the first match is drawn and teams displayed. Displayed either side of the button at the top are the selected random numbers. Each time you press the Next button, (or press the 'Enter' key) another pair of teams is selected. When the button caption says 'Done' there are no more teams left to draw. Viewing the fixtures list. Click the Fixtures List button (the button with a grid picture) to view the selected teams. The program now uses a grid to display the list. Don't generate another fixture list until you have a record of the present list, because the program only stores the lastest list and will overwrite the previous one. Printing. If you click the Print button when the team list or fixtures list has focus, you can print the respective list to an installed printer of your choice.
